The Monocel® value chain of handpicked suppliers and manufacturers and our production processes are certified for environmental performance and social responsibility.
The carefully selected bamboo used for the Monocel® fibre in our yarns, grows naturally in abundance. It is harvested by hand and carried manually to collection points. Our selected bamboo species does not require any irrigation, pesticides or fertilizers, and does not repress food production as it thrives in barren soil conditions not suitable for food crops. On the contrary, bamboo provides food through delicious bamboo shoots.
The closed loop lyocell technique significantly reduces water consumption and also eliminates the use of hazardous chemicals by using the organic solvent NMMNO in the production process. This solution is recycled and reused, along with the water involved in the process. Thus, there are no residues of harmful chemicals, and the process results in long, strong and durable fibres.
Our selected dyeing and spinning mills are certified according to the ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards, as well as Oeko-Tex 100 and Japan Whitelist where applicable. Dyeing is a critical factor in the environmental impact of the global textile industry. Our revolutionary Ultrasonic Natural Plant Dyed yarns uses one of the most advanced and environmentally friendly dyeing processes available, eliminating waste water.
Highest possible eco-ranking
